The DEA Store
The Waterloo end of Regent Street is one of Sydney’s most exciting retail strips thanks to a collection of enterprising residents peddling artisanal products.
DEA is one such store. Owners Karin Huchatz and Colin Grimmer believe everything in the store should please the “delicate eye area” – hence the acronym DEA. That goes for the fixtures, as well as the products. In a previous life, Huchatz was a gallerist, something that’s apparent in the artful displays and shelving.
Shop here for soap handmade in Turkey; a hand-loomed robe; or Kinto Japanese teacups. Other highlights include ODE handmade ceramics; classic blue-rimmed white baking dishes and serving-ware from Falcon Enamelware; Tom Dixon accessories; and stationery by MOMA.
When you’re finished, visit some of the area’s other residents, which include bakeries, cafes and plenty of furniture and design stores.
We do not seek or accept payment from the cafes, restaurants, bars and shops listed in the Directory – inclusion is at our discretion. Venue profiles are written by independent freelancers paid by Broadsheet.
