Award-winning musical Hamilton is coming to Brisbane. It will open at the Lyric Theatre, QPAC on January 27 2023, eight years after debuting on Broadway in New York City in 2015. It’s since toured the US, and opened on London’s West End in 2017 before first arriving on Australian shores in Sydney in March 2021.

The modern classic, which was written by composer, lyricist and actor Lin Manuel Miranda, has won 11 Tony Awards, including best musical, the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the Grammy Award for best musical theatre album.

It follows the life of American founding father Alexander Hamilton, who was an immigrant from the West Indies. He worked closely with George Washington, became the US’s first treasury secretary and founded the New York Post and the US Coast Guard.
