Deli’s Continental


This former pop-up now has a permanent deli serving benchmark conti rolls, doorstopper focaccias and takeaway sauces and conserva. Rolls are baked to order daily, filled with care and are worthy of the hype.

The noted roaster’s colourful pro shop is a destination for serious coffee drinkers. Stop by for cold brew on tap, a robust retail selection and baked goods from local bakery, Big Loaf.

In an unlikely former office space, the team behind Tbsp has installed yet another brunch destination worth travelling for. The pan-Asian-style menu includes scrambled eggs with XO bacon, duck udon and a chicken Katsu sando hefty enough to feed two.

Folk & Merchant


A breezy cafe and retail space that champions handmade goods from the local community. Pull in for simple stuff like toast, open sandwiches and croissants. Then, stay and browse the colourful range of ceramics, kidswear and more.

Oh So Deli


A petite sandwich cafe serving made-to-order Reubens, chicken katsu sandos and eggplant parmies. Take them across the road to eat at picturesque Jackadder Lake Reserve, along with coffee by up-and-coming Perth roaster, Timely Coffees.

Croff Bakehouse


After mastering the art of the croissant, this popular bakery is shining a light on the croissant loaf sandwich. Come here for their take on Reuben and a four-cheese number, sandwiched between thick-cut slices of flaky, buttery croissant bread.

Raine Square 300 Murray Street, Perth



This airy sandwich spot in an 1890s heritage-listed space does cool remixes of classic sandwiches including conti rolls, chicken-schnitty subs and an ode to the Sausage McMuffin.

35 Market Street, Fremantle

Cafe Pastel


There are only two things to buy at this little bakery: coffee and picture-perfect Portuguese custard tarts, baked fresh every 15 minutes throughout the day.

At this modern neighbourhood cafe, a former Vasse Felix chef tweaks brunch classics by way of his Burmese and Indian heritage. Think eggs benedict with a cardamom-spiked hollandaise, sided with coffee by Five Senses.

Seek out this hidden cafe for expert coffee, comforting Greek custard and phyllo-pastry pies, and a great house-made conti roll.

Grain Bakery


A fourth-generation baker runs this tiny shop, where sausage rolls and pies are made to 40-year-old family recipes. On the modern side, there are fluffy doughnuts, creative pastries and fudge slices.
