Most Sydneysiders don’t wake up with harbour views in the morning. But a new deal from NSW National Parks puts it within reach (if only for a couple of days). From today, it’s offering 20 per cent off stays at two harbourfront cottages at Middle Head in the Sydney Harbour National Park.

The two historic semi-detached cottages each sleep four across two bedrooms, and can be booked individually or together. They’ve recently been restored, with full kitchens, back-deck barbeques and modern bathrooms. Plush beds furnish large bedrooms, and the rear verandah looks out to the harbour.

But the real pull? It’s set among tranquil bushland and in close proximity to clifftop bushwalks, hidden beaches and historic forts. Mosman, Balmoral, Chowder Bay and Taronga Zoo are all close by. With no public car access to the area (apart from you and some National Parks staff), as night falls it’ll be just you and the birds.

Broadsheet Access members get special tables at busy restaurants, tickets to exclusive events and discounts on food, coffee, brand offers and more.

The Regency-style cottages were built circa 1880 for officers in charge of units manning the Middle Head fort. Remnants of a historic moat are still visible at the bottom of the back garden, and there’s even a fortification wall on three sides of the structure. During WWII, the building was repurposed as a Red Cross hospital.

The sale starts today, July 1, and you have until July 31 to book for stays between July 18 and September 22, 2022. Use the promo code FeelNSW when booking.
